I would like to say a few words in memory of our dear friend, 09-10 School Year.
You were wonderful.
You kept hundreds of mothers sane.
Including me.
And I will forever be grateful for those seven hours a day you generously gave me to clean.
Even though sometimes I didn't.
You gave me seven hours a day to regroup and nap.
Even though a LOT of times I didn't.
You gave me seven hours of quiet from my kids either using outside voices when playing,
or screaming because someone 'touched' someone else.
You gave me seven hours to miss my son,
so when he came home, I loved him that much more.
You helped him grow and learn.
And get acquainted with the inside of the principles office when he punched that kid.
Because he couldn't take the teasing anymore.
You have offered exciting field trips, and wonderful teachers.
You graced us with above average lunches at a discount.
You gave my son the opportunity to come home with the most extraordinary crafts.
You gave him the opportunity to perform in his first musical.
In where he danced with his first girl,
and almost made me cry 'cuz he was such a gentleman.

Oh, dearest 09-10 School Year.
You will truly be missed.

So it is for you that we hold this moment of silence....

Ignore the fact that children acted like this on your last day here on earth:

Or that the staff and teachers played Handel's Hallelujah Chorus over the loud speaker
after the campus was empty of students.
{we live next door - I am a witness}
Or that they probably where doing this in the teacher's lounge:

Because, even though they seem happy on the outside,
the are Truly Mourning
on the inside.

Rest In Peace.
Until We Meet Again...

Dear 2010 Summer,
While I admit I am ridiculously excited to finally have you here,
with the no homework, and sleeping in,
I just have one thing to say.
You better rock.

xoxo

3... more... days left for me. However, I must admit it is very bittersweet. I love my first grade class this year. (Not enough to keep them forever though.)

I really liked this post.

Is it bad of me to say that I am NOT excited that school will be out? My daughter...so bored...because I don't want her running around with the Heathen children in the neighborhood:)

So bittersweet!
